About Motivated 2 Help Others (M2H)

Motivated 2 Help Others (M2H) is a Richmond-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit delivering youth-focused prevention and wellness services that strengthen families and communities.

M2H serves individuals of all ages, with a primary focus on youth and young adults as a primary point of intervention to reduce risk factors associated with violence, incarceration, and long-term instability..

Mission

M2H’s mission is to save lives and strengthen communities by supporting youth through mentorship, fitness, education, and community connection—while engaging families and adults as essential partners in prevention.

Organizational Background

Founded in 2013 by Fahim Lejon Reese, M2H is rooted in lived experience, accountability, and service. The organization grew from early community service efforts initiated while the founder was incarcerated and has since become a trusted provider of prevention-focused programming in Richmond.

Program Model

M2H operates a youth-centered prevention model reinforced by adult wellness and community action. Programs are delivered by trained staff and trusted community members who build consistent, supportive relationships with participants.

Youth Wellness & Empowerment (Primary Focus)

Youth programming integrates:

  • Mentorship and leadership development
  • Physical fitness and wellness
  • Educational enrichment, including STEM-based learning
  • Social-emotional and mental wellness support

Core youth programs include:

  • Game Changer – a hybrid STEM and youth development program
  • The Session Fitness Program – structured fitness, nutrition education, and wellness programming

These programs are designed to reduce risk factors, increase protective factors, and support improved long-term outcomes for youth and young adults.

Adult Wellness (Supporting Youth Outcomes)

M2H provides wellness-focused programming for adults in support of youth and family stability, recognizing that healthy, stable adults are critical to youth success. Adult services include:

  • Fitness and wellness activities
  • Safe spaces and facilitated group engagement
  • Community Action & Family Support

M2HO strengthens families and neighborhoods through community-based initiatives that address basic needs and promote connection, including:

  • Adopt A Family
  • Feeding the Unhoused
  • Annual Family Day
  • Annual Cancer Walk

These efforts reinforce trust, visibility, and shared responsibility for youth wellbeing.
